There any many blog packages available. Some are free, some are not, some are open source, some are community projects. So far, Vlog Central is known to work with Blogger, Movable Type/Typepad, and WordPress. Most standard blog software, properly configured, will work.

Google has a free blog and hosting service called Blogger.

Six Apart is the company behind Movable Type. Movable Type comes in a variety of commercial licensing models. Six Apart also has a blog hosting service called Type Pad.
